Call for Projects Funding Recommendations

Every year the IMPO receives approximately $60 million in funding to distribute to local public agencies (cities, towns, counties, and transit agencies) for transportation improvements (roads, roundabouts, trails, busses, and more). The IMPO has developed a recommended list of projects for this year’s funding. The IMPO is asking for review and feedback on these funding recommendations for 2028 projects (and 2029 and 2030 funding for transportation alternatives projects only). The IMPO is recommending $65.6M in funding for 25 projects across the region. Public review and comment is open between November 29, 2024 and December 30, 2024. Your comments will be made available to the Transportation Technical and Transportation Policy Committees members before those committees consider formally adopting these projects into the TIP.

LEGAL NOTICE: NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT CONCERNING PROPOSED THE TIP RECOMMENDED PROJECT LIST FOR SFY 2028 AND 2029/2030 TA FUNDED PROJECTS

Notice is hereby given that the recommended project list for 2028 and additional 2029 and 2030 Transporation Alternatives funded projects for inclusion in the Indianapolis Regional Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is being offered for public review and comment between November 29 and December 30, 2024. After public comment, recommendations will be formalized and submitted for inclusion in the 2026 – 2029 TIP adoption.

You are invited to participate in our regional planning process. Public comments may be submitted via email to info@indympo.gov, by phone to 317-327-8601 or by mail to Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization 200 East Washington Street, Suite 2322 Indianapolis IN 46204.

Relevant documents will be available on the IMPO’s website at www.indympo.org, or for viewing in person, by appointment, in Room 2322 of the City-County Building, 200 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

The public participation process described above is used to satisfy the public participation process for the Program of Projects (POP) for the following Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grantee: Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation (IndyGo).

The public participation process described above is consistent with the policies and procedures for public involvement that have been formally adopted by CIRTA, and meets all applicable public participation requirements pertaining to grants associated with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
